BBFC Ratings

BBFC RATING.

The rating of our film is going to be a 15; we finalised with this as we look around on the internet at other zombie movies and inspired us to have a 15 rating because of the content. In order to retain their value to the public, BBFC ratings must be used in a consistent and correct fashion; thats why we chose to make the rating a 15. 

One of the film that inspired us was World War Z. This film is also rated a 15 as the content of the film can be unsuitable for ages under the BBFC rating. Also another film that inspired us was Shaun of the dead.

The reason why Shaun of the dead was rated a 15 is because there is enough blood, guts, to turn your stomach and avert your eyes. It is extremely violent - zombies and human trying to kill each other in everyday possible; biting, shooting, stabbing impaling etc. Also, there is a lot of smoking and drinking; and there are a few references to drugs.

World War Z is rated a 15 because it tones down 

the blood and gore that are trademarks of most

zombie movies. It is tense but not overly graphic,

some scenes include a woman arm being chopped off and people choosing suicide over

infection. Language is sparse but features a few swear words.

As I have identified why some other films BBFC rating is a 15; i think this links very well with mine as my film will contain strong languages , violence , blood, smoking and maybe drinking. Its going to be intense but not overly graphic.
